The Hohner Discovery 48 has a great tone, but it doesn’t have the best volume of other comparable models, at least not right out of the box. After a little breaking in, the volume may improve a bit. It’s one of the top choices for people who prefer their chromatic harps to have plastic mouthpieces for comfort, as well as to avoid the metallic taste of some harmonicas. This 12-hole, 48-reed chromatic is also a good starter harmonica for people who have diatonic experience, but have not played a chromatic harp before. The slide is very easy to operate, and the harmonica is screwed together, which makes it easy to take apart and adjust.
PROS
Plastic mouthpiece
Slide is easy to use
CONS
Volume not as good as similar models in the same price range
