The Hohner CX-12 is a great harmonica for a slightly more advanced player. It’s available in 10 different keys, which allows each musician the flexibility to choose their key, or to try several. The brass reed plates are easily replaced, and the construction is airtight. The round holes are also wonderful because they are more comfortable to play than square holes, at least according to most musicians. The only major drawback of the CX-12 is the slide, which can be a bit loud and distracting. Serious musicians might be better off to purchase a quieter mouth harp, but the CX-12’s value is good for the price.
PROS
Sturdy construction
Available in multiple keys
CONS
Loud slide, which can have a negative impact on sound quality
