The Hohner Chromonica 64 is an unusual harmonic because it has the capability to play an octave under middle C. Beyond that, it has a much better sound quality than many other harps out there, including the CX-12. It has round holes, which do tend to make it more comfortable to play than harmonicas with square holes. However, that is also one of the reasons why this harmonica is a bit higher priced than similar square-holed models. But the sound quality definitely makes this harmonica well worth the price. Not only that, but the slide is much better than other models, including the CX-12. Although, adjusting to the Hohner Chromonica 64 may be difficult for those who are switching over from diatonics for the first time.
PROS
Excellent sound quality
Comfortable round holes
CONS
Reeds may require replacement more often than some models
