The Hohner Blue Midnight features a blue plastic comb that gives it a flashy look, but that’s not the only reason that its name is appropriate. It’s also well-named because it’s the perfect harp for playing the blues. This 10-hole diatonic actually got its name because it is modeled after the play style of Little Walter Jacobs, a blues harp expert. The tone and volume of this harp are maximized by its great construction, including stainless steel cover plates. The screws are easily removed, if you want to tweak this harmonica’s reeds to come up with your own tuning. Bending has never been easier than with the Hohner Blue Midnight.

PROS

Good for playing the blues

Great tone and volume

CONS

Not good for advanced play or stage shows
