Magic Dick (born Richard Salwitz in Connecticut on May 13, 1945) plays harmonica for the J. Geils Band. He also plays trumpet and saxophone and combines hard rock, Chicago blues, and jazz styles. He’s most famous for his performance of “Whammer Jammer,” which he once said he hopes to play until he dies. It stands alone as one of the harmonica solo greats.
