John Sebastian (born in New York City on March 17, 1944) is a rock, pop, and folk artist best known as a founder of the Lovin’ Spoonful. He also played under the pseudonym G. Puglese with the Doors and Crosby, Stills and Nash. His father was a classical harmonica player, and he grew up with folks like Burl Ives, Woodie Guthrie, and Lead Belly wandering through his living room.
