Jimmy “Z” Zavala (born in California on February 7, 1955) plays rock, funk, and blues on harmonica, sax, and flute. He toured with Etta James for ten years (she called Jimmy her “hoochie coochie man”) as well as with the Eurythmics and Tom Petty. He is a busy session player in Los Angeles and frequently plays with his band, Jimmy Z and the ZTribe, when he’s not traveling the world giving workshops.
