John Popper (born in Ohio on March 29, 1967) is a harmonica virtuoso associated primarily with Blues Traveler, a blues-rock band. John is known for his harmonica belt, his propensity for key changes, and his equipment innovations. One of Hohner’s featured artists, he claims the Special 20 is his favorite. Here he struts his stuff playing the “Star Spangled Banner.” Pay particular attention to how he bends his notes using his amp.
